Lime and its Remarkable Growth in Urban Micromobility
With the flourishing sales of its electric bikes and scooters, Lime is considering an unprecedented expansion for the year 2024.
Although the cessation of dockless electric scooters in Paris is significant, Lime shows that the global market is only growing, and the figures from 2023 bear witness to this.
A positive report and future prospects for Lime
According to the latest statistics presented, Lime has recorded an impressive growth in its micromobility services over the past year.
With more than 156 million trips registered through its application, the company has surpassed the milestone of 500 million accumulated trips since its inception and has seen attendance double in 42 cities around the world.
This massive usage has led to a turnover of 616 million dollars, an increase of 32% compared to the previous year. Profits have not been left behind, quintupling to reach more than 90 million dollars.
Lime CEO Wayne Ting expresses his enthusiasm for the reception of the cities to the transportation solutions offered by Lime. He highlights their effectiveness against pollution, urban traffic jams, less accessible public transportation, and as a response to climate change.
Lime’s expansion and continuous innovation
Lime does not plan to stop there, with expansion plans for 2024 that include the introduction of new vehicle models and the conquest of new urban territories. The question remains as to the type of innovative vehicle that can be unveiled, but expansion is already underway, notably with the recent deployment of Lime services in Nice.
In France, Lime is present in four cities including Paris, Marseille, Lille, and Le Havre, deploying a contingent of more than 17,000 vehicles. With increased competition from other services such as Tier-Dott, Pony, and Voi, Lime seeks to stand out with an ever more attractive presence and offers.
A Commitment to Reduced Carbon Footprint
Lime also positions itself on the ecological front, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030. The company has already made notable progress by converting half of its vehicle fleet management to electric utilities and cargo bikes, and continues to seek innovations to reduce its environmental impact.
