Presentation of the new Zéfal K-Traz U20 lock
Zéfal, a French brand renowned for its bicycle accessories, has just launched its latest lock model: the K-Traz U20. This U-shaped lock stands out for its remarkable robustness within the Zéfal range while remaining relatively affordable.
Characteristics of the K-Traz U20
The K-Traz U20 is a treated steel lock, equipped with an 18 mm diameter shackle, highlighting its solidity. Although Zéfal does not specify the treatments applied to the steel, it is classified as the most resistant by the brand. This model has received the SRA certification, a label recognized for the security it provides, guaranteeing a high level of protection appreciated by insurers.
Its simple black design, with a flexible coating, helps prevent scratches on the bike frame. Weighing 2.55 kg, with a width of 18.5 cm and a length of 30.5 cm, it is comparable to the Kryptonite New York M18. However, it does not include a transport support. A universal K-Traz Holster case is available separately to attach it to the bike frame.
Compact option: the K-Traz U20S
For those who prefer a more compact model without sacrificing strength, the K-Traz U20S is an alternative. With the same 18 mm shackle, it features reduced dimensions of 18.5 x 21 cm and a weight of 2.15 kg, making it easier to carry even if its use is more restrictive for thick frames.
The lock opens with a key, with three keys provided. In terms of price, the K-Traz U20 costs 89.95 €, while the K-Traz U20S is offered at 79.95 €. These rates are higher than those of the K-Traz U17 but promise superior protection. We are eager to check this promise in an upcoming test.
Zéfal continues to build its reputation with these two robust and certified lock models, meeting various needs depending on the type of bike and the desired security level.
