Yerka presents at Eurobike 2024
The American brand Yerka was present at Eurobike 2024 in Frankfurt and impressed with its bike frame capable of transforming into a lock, integrated with the seat post. This innovative system will be available on an electric model in early 2025.
Frame transformable into a lock
Yerka presented a bike where the lower bar of the frame can split into two by rotating the cylindrical security. Then, each part pivots horizontally and, combined with the seat post, forms an integrated lock. A key locks the whole system for a simple and effective solution.
Impressive performance
To demonstrate the quickness of this transformation, Yerka installed a stopwatch at its booth. The test allowed the maneuver to be completed in 18 seconds by a novice user, while a Yerka team member took only 6 seconds.
An electric model in preparation
Currently, Yerka offers two mechanical bikes with this frame-lock, of which only the Yerka V4 is available. An electric version of this innovative bike is planned for early 2025. The main interest of this system is not having to carry a separate lock, often bulky and heavy, while offering protection directly integrated into the bike.
