Xiaomi unveils the new generation of its electric scooters
Innovation at Xiaomi continues with the introduction of the latest version of its electric scooters, known for their reliability and modern design.
The range is renewed with two improved models: the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro and the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite, both labeled “second generation”.
Although the aesthetics remain true to the lineage, it’s under the hood that the most significant changes occur, with its 2 new powerful electric scooters.
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro: Increased power and extended range
The new Electric Scooter 4 Pro 2nd Gen surprises with its motor repositioned at the rear, promising better maneuverability compared to the previous configuration. It offers a nominal power of 400 W and can reach 1000 W at peak, surpassing the old model by 50 W in continuous power and 300 W at peak.
This scooter also features a revamped braking system, with a drum brake at the front considered efficient and requiring little maintenance. This model also includes a second electric brake at the rear.
Its battery capacity has increased from 446 Wh to 468 Wh, extending its range by 5 kilometers, thus approaching 60 kilometers under optimal usage.
Nevertheless, the charging time remains the same, about 9 hours for a full charge. As for its weight, it reaches 19 kg, an increase of 3 kg. Users will also appreciate the new functionality of turn signals implemented on the handlebar.
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite: Improved comfort and a revised design
The Electric Scooter 4 Lite 2nd Gen model does not lack novelties either. It sports a refreshed design with a redesigned rear part for improved aerodynamics and increased visibility.
The power remains unchanged at 300 W but the maximum peak now reaches 390 W against 600 W for the previous model, which raises questions about the impact on performance.
The battery capacity, on the other hand, has seen a significant jump, from 187 Wh to 228 Wh, allowing an additional range of 5 km for a total of 25 km. The charging time has been optimized to reach 4.5 hours.
It also adopts larger wheels of 10 inches for greatly improved comfort. This time, the weight is listed at 16.2 kg, a modest increase of 0.6 kg.
Competitive pricing for the new generation
Another asset and not the least for these two models: their price. The Electric Scooter 4 Pro 2nd Gen is announced at 549 euros while the Electric Scooter 4 Lite 2nd Gen will be offered at 299 euros.
These prices defy all competition and take up those of promotions on the first models of the range. It remains to be seen if Xiaomi will maintain this attractive pricing strategy in the future.
