The new Voyah Zhiyin: a serious rival for Tesla?
Presentation of the Voyah brand
Voyah is a Chinese brand founded in 2020, still little known in Europe despite its recent presence in Norway and Switzerland.
Voyah recently unveiled the Zhiyin, an electric SUV measuring 4.73 meters long, 1.90 meters wide and 1.64 meters high, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y. This model features a unique design with LED lights connected by a black strip, fog lights and aerodynamic rims. The Chinese brand clearly wishes to position the Zhiyin among the best electric SUVs on the market.
Design and interior comfort
The Zhiyin features an imposing silhouette with flush handles. Inside, five people can sit comfortably thanks to a wheelbase of 2.90 meters. The sleek dashboard integrates a large touchscreen, likely equipped with the Huawei Smart Cockpit system.
Range and charging performance
The newcomer impresses above all with its technical performance. It is available in several versions: – Rear-wheel drive with 292 hp and 77 kWh battery, offering 625 kilometers of range – Rear-wheel drive with 312 hp and 109 kWh battery, allowing for 901 kilometers – All-wheel drive with 435 hp with two 160 kW motors and a 77 kWh battery, for a range of 570 kilometers
Converted to European WLTP standards, these ranges translate respectively to about 530, 765 and 495 kilometers. By comparison, the Tesla Model Y offers a maximum of 600 kilometers WLTP.
Fast charging and commercial future
The Zhiyin stands out with fast charging thanks to its 800-volt architecture, allowing it to recover up to 515 kilometers of range in 15 minutes. The price of the Zhiyin remains unknown for now, with orders expected in the coming months. Voyah aims to export this model to Europe, despite recent tariff barriers.
