Partnership between Cowboy and Blike
The electric bike brand Cowboy has announced a partnership with the e-bike rental service Blike. Thanks to this partnership, customers will be able to rent Cowboy electric bikes, including the Cruiser, Cruiser ST, and Classic models. Subscriptions are flexible and will cost from £120 per month. Cowboy thus joins Brompton and the British brand Estarli which have also offered their electric models through these services.
How the Blike subscription works
If buying an electric bike is too expensive or if you are still hesitant, the subscription is an excellent alternative to try before committing. Blike is one of the best e-bike subscription services, and if your employer supports the Cycle to Work program, you can often rent bikes through this program. In addition to the bike, an annual maintenance is included and you can cancel the subscription at any time. Insurance against theft and accidental damage is also included in the monthly price.
Prices vary depending on the model chosen; currently, Cowboy offers the Cruiser, Cruiser ST, and Classic models for amounts ranging from £120 to £127 per month.
Comments on the partnership
Charles Van Haverbeke, Sales Director at Cowboy, commented on this announcement by highlighting the considerable benefits of the electric bike for the cyclist and for the planet. He expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration with Blike, which makes Cowboy bikes more accessible through a simple and affordable subscription formula.
Technological update at Cowboy
This week was also marked by an update of the brand’s AdaptivePower technology. This innovation allows automatic control of gear changes and electric assistance based on the cyclist’s effort. Cowboy claims that this update allows climbing slopes up to 50% steeper without extra effort. It would also be optimized according to the weight, dimensions, and ratios of the different Cowboy models.
In addition to that, the efficiency of the transmission system would be improved, thus reducing battery consumption by 10% on flat terrain. Richard Ascott, Marketing Director, indicated that this campaign was inspired by the Cowboy cyclist community, which describes AdaptivePower as a real superpower. Currently, this update will be rolled out to existing users via their mobile app and will be available for owners of the Classic, Cruiser, and Cross models.
