Discovery of the SpaceCamper Bike
At the Eurobike event in Frankfurt, a surprising innovation caught our attention: the SpaceCamper Bike. This ingenious kit transforms a Riese & Müller Load4 cargo bike into a real tent with an integrated mattress, perfect for one person.
The Concept
SpaceCamper, known for its motorhome equipment, has managed to attract bike touring enthusiasts with this novelty. The Riese & Müller Load4, a cargo bike, is equipped with a tent that completely covers the bike. Under this canvas, a bed base quickly transforms from chair to bed, offering comfort thanks to an inflatable mattress a few centimeters thick.
Installation and Use
The kit is specifically designed for the Load4 and is easily installed by modifying the walls of the base box. When folded, the kit completely occupies the crate. The seat can be unfolded to transport a person with notably superior comfort. As an option, SpaceCamper offers a tablet that can also serve as a lid, thus creating a secure space under the deck chair.
Ideal for digital nomads, this tablet attaches above the folded stem of the Load4 and becomes a table. It is a practical addition for those who leave their bike at the campsite to go hiking.
Price and Accessories
To enjoy this comfort, you need to own a Riese & Müller Load4 75. The kit, including the deck chair, costs €1850. The tent is available for €470, the inflatable mattress for €146, and the tablet for €150. The total can therefore reach nearly €2500, in addition to the price of the bike which starts at €7569.
