New Honda CUV e Scooter: in preparation for Indonesia
The Honda brand is planning the industrialization in Indonesia of its latest electric scooter model, the Honda CUV e:, inspired by the SC e: concept. This scooter, designed as a 110cc equivalent with interchangeable batteries, could soon find its place on the European market.
In November 2023, at the EICMA show, Honda unveiled the SC e: concept, a 125 electric scooter with interchangeable batteries. Today, this model is evolving to become the Honda CUV e:, designed for industrialization in Indonesia.
Technical characteristics and performance
The Honda CUV e: is positioned as a 110 cm³ thermal equivalent. This suggests a speed probably capped at 80 or 90 km/h. The scooter will be equipped with three driving modes: Eco, standard, and sport.
The CUV e: will operate with two interchangeable Honda Mobile Power Pack batteries, each weighing 10 kg and storing 1.3 kWh of energy. These batteries offer an estimated range between 30 and 60 km, depending on use.
The Honda CUV e: pays tribute to the CUV ES, the first electric scooter marketed by Honda in 1994.
New features for the Indonesian market with the Honda ICON e:
The Honda ICON e:, a revamped version of the EM1 e:, is specifically intended for the Indonesian market. The ICON e: offers a ternary lithium-ion battery, widely used in China, which allows for better use of the space under the seat to perhaps house a helmet. The range capacity is 50 km per charge, with a motor integrated into the rear wheel.
No information has yet been disclosed regarding the prices or availability of the models. It is possible that more details will emerge at EICMA 2024.
