Summary
The electric Dodge Charger arrives in Europe
The 100% electric Dodge Charger Daytona, recently unveiled, will soon be launched in Europe. This information was confirmed by a representative of Stellantis, also indicating the upcoming availability of thermal versions. Indeed, although Europe is banning gasoline and diesel from 2035, sports cars will continue to exist. Manufacturers are adapting, like Alpine, Abarth, and now Dodge.
An electric Dodge Charger in Europe
Dodge, although historically American, wants to electrify its catalog in Europe. In 2022, the brand presented its Charger Daytona SRT “Banshee” concept, followed by a similar model unveiled in March 2024. Against all odds, this vehicle will be available in Europe and the Middle East from the second half of 2025.
Several variants available
The available variants will include two- and four-door models, with electric and thermal engines. The choice of configurations arriving first is still uncertain but should evolve quickly. In America, the electric version was the first launched, and it is likely that Europe will follow this model due to strict regulations.
Attractive specifications
The Dodge Charger is based on the STLA Large platform and offers two electric versions: Daytona R/T and Daytona Scat Pack. The R/T version delivers 496 horsepower, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The Scat Pack version increases this power to 670 horsepower for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds. Both share a 100.5 kWh battery, offering a range of 510 km according to the EPA standard.
Sound and competition
A Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust noise generator simulates the sound of a thermal exhaust. This technology is also found on the Abarth 500e and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Although performing well, the electric Dodge Charger does not yet fully compete with models like the Tesla Model S Plaid or the Porsche Taycan. The price for Europe is not yet defined, but in the United States, it starts at $59,995, potentially increasing for the European market due to taxes and import fees.
