Presentation of the Talaria Sting MX5 Pro
The Talaria Sting MX5 Pro, the latest model from the Chinese manufacturer, stands out as one of the most high-performing electric motorcycles available to date. Scheduled for release in the fall of 2024, this electric off-road bike sets itself apart in the Talaria range with its 72-volt battery, in contrast to other models using a 60-volt configuration.
Performance and Specifications
Classified in the 125 electric motorcycle category, the MX5 Pro boasts a peak power of 13 kW, equivalent to 17 horsepower, and delivers a torque of 500 Nm to the rear wheel. Despite having a slightly lower top speed than the Sur Ron Storm Bee (95 km/h versus 110 km/h), the Sting MX5 Pro offers three riding modes, including a “hyper” mode for optimal performance. The battery capacity, made up of Samsung cells, is 2.88 kWh, which may seem insufficient compared to the 4.6 kWh of the Storm Bee. The announced range is 120 km at a constant speed of 25 km/h, but in real conditions, it should rather be between 40 and 60 km.
Additional Features
One of the innovations of the Sting MX5 Pro is its regenerative braking system, adjustable in four levels. The equipment also includes 220 mm disc brakes and a color TFT screen that displays at a glance all vital information such as speed, battery level, and odometer. The motorcycle, already available in the United States, is marketed at a price of $6,599, or about €6,000.
