A new folding bike by Starway
Starway, a well-known French brand in the field of urban electric bikes, has recently launched an intriguing folding bike. This bike, simply named “Pliant”, stands out with its automatic assistance and different sized wheels, 24 inches at the rear and 20 inches at the front.

An original design
The format of the Starway Pliant is based on a long wheelbase and the use of different sized wheels, an uncommon but interesting feature. This configuration, also seen on some German models like the Moca, ensures both stability and compactness when folded. However, with a weight of 25 kg, this folding bike is not the lightest on the market.
Equipment and technology
Despite its larger rear wheel, the Starway Pliant remains compact in size. It is equipped with a color display, hydraulic disc brakes, mudguards, a front light, and a stop light. It does not have a rear rack, which is intentional to facilitate folding.
Equi Motion electric assistance
The Pliant integrates Equi Motion electric assistance, an in-house technology that automatically adjusts the level of assistance thanks to a rear motor with a torque of 55 Nm. Although equipped with a single-speed belt transmission, this feature ensures dynamic support adjustment for pedaling, similar to what is found on some more sophisticated electric bike models such as Cowboy or those equipped with Yamaha and Bosch motors.
Assembled in France
The Starway Pliant is assembled in France, which is a significant advantage for those who prioritize local manufacturing. Sold at the price of 1,890 euros, this folding bike positions itself as an affordable option given its equipment and features. Available in three colors – white, gray, and mint green – it offers a practical and stylish solution for urban commuting.
