Siemens reinvents charging for electric vehicles with 400 kW stations
The German firm Siemens is revolutionizing the electric charging market by offering stations with an increased power of 400 kW, an impressive capacity that allows charging four vehicles simultaneously.
This technological innovation is not only a challenge to other players in the sector like Tesla but also a pragmatic response to the range anxiety of electric car drivers.
Advanced charging stations
Electric vehicle charging stations, once a rarity, are now proliferating across countries and are becoming more sophisticated.
With more than 123,000 charging points installed in France alone, access to charging is made easier for electric vehicle owners.
The development of faster charging technologies is intensifying to reduce the time needed to recharge, and this is where Siemens steps in with its Sicharge D charging station model.
Initially introduced in 2021 with a 300 kW capacity, this state-of-the-art station stands out today with a new much more powerful version displaying a continuous 400 kW capacity.
A technical feat that is not affected by extreme weather conditions, guaranteeing stable recharging even at an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
Ultra-fast and multiple recharging
The updated model of Siemens’ Sicharge D charging station reaches a new peak in the field of rapid charging with the ability to restore 80% of an electric car’s battery in just 15 minutes, provided the vehicle can handle such power.
The result is a significantly improved charging solution in terms of speed and convenience.
Designed for efficiency and flexibility, the improved charging station allows the connection of four cars simultaneously, offering dynamic charge management to optimize each vehicle’s recharge time and maximize user satisfaction.
This dynamic sharing technology also optimizes costs and footprint for operators.
User-friendly and secure usage
Siemens places particular importance on the user experience. The Sicharge D station is therefore equipped with a multilingual touchscreen for intuitive navigation and a cable designed for easy handling.
Furthermore, this cutting-edge station integrates a credit card payment system, in line with impending European legal requirements.
Siemens’ announcement clearly positions the company as a pioneer in the sector of electric charging infrastructure, with already more than a thousand rapid charging stations produced in Leipzig to meet the growing needs of an expanding electric mobility.
