Leapmotor arrives in France with two electric models
The new T03 and C10 models
Leapmotor electric cars are finally arriving in France, thanks to a partnership with Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, etc.). The official launch reveals the prices and features of their first two models: the city car T03 and the SUV C10. The T03, in particular, could benefit from the French ecological bonus, making it extremely competitive in the market.
Prices and features of the T03
A direct rival to the Dacia Spring, the T03 is a 3.62 m long electric city car, initially sold at 25,990 euros via an independent importer. Leapmotor now offers the T03 at an attractive price of 19,500 euros, with a launch promotion at 18,900 euros until the end of October. Thanks to its assembly at the Fiat plant in Tychy, it could be eligible for the French ecological bonus, allowing it to start at 14,900 euros, or even 13,230 euros with the “super bonus” of 7,000 euros.
Equipped with rich features, the T03 includes a 10.1-inch central screen, 10-inch rims, a sunroof, a rear camera, and standard adaptive cruise control. It has a 37.3 kWh LFP battery offering 265 km of range in the WLTP cycle and a 95 hp motor allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.7 seconds. Fast charging at 48 kW allows the battery to charge from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes.
The C10 facing fierce competition
The C10, a 4.74 m long SUV, enters an already very competitive market of family electric SUVs, against the Tesla Model Y, the Renault Scénic E-Tech, the Peugeot E-3008, and the Volkswagen ID.4. Offered starting at 36,400 euros, reduced to 34,900 euros for the launch, the C10 is not eligible for the bonus, being imported directly from China.
The standard equipment of the C10 is complete: electric seats, sunroof, 14.6-inch central screen, semi-autonomous driving, connected navigation, 360° rear camera, and 19-inch rims. A high-end finish adds heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and an electric tailgate for an additional 1,500 euros.
The C10 is based on a connected platform allowing remote updates. Its 69.9 kWh LFP battery, coupled with a 218 hp rear motor, announces a range of 420 km WLTP. Fast charging at 84 kW allows it to go from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes. A version with a 120 kW charger is expected in early 2025 to improve charging time.
Leapmotor’s strategy in Europe
To attract customers, Leapmotor relies on Stellantis’ sales and service network. The brand aims for 120 points of sale in France by the end of March 2025, and 350 points of sale in Europe by the end of 2024.
The T03 and C10 models are currently being tested in Italy and will arrive at French dealerships in early October. Leapmotor will also be present at the Paris Motor Show in mid-October to present these two models and a new exclusive vehicle.
