Summary
Removal of the bonus for electric motorcycles and scooters
The decree published this Sunday, December 1, formalizes the disappearance of the aid for the purchase of electric scooters and motorcycles. This decision marks a setback for this still-developing sector. The removal of the ecological bonus has been confirmed, and decree 2024-1084 details this measure, motivated by government budgetary restrictions. Previously, certain models like the BMW CE 04 benefited from a bonus of €900, now unavailable.
Immediate application from December 2
To clarify previous changes, the aid for the purchase of electric motorcycles and scooters reached up to €900, and even €1900 for residents of the Overseas departments. Traditionally, bonus revisions took effect on January 1, however, this time, the decree applies from Monday, December 2, 2024. This places consumers in a complex situation, having very little time to adapt.
Conditions for receiving assistance
For those who placed an order before the decree came into effect, aid remains possible provided that the first invoice or the first rent is issued before February 14, 2025.
Similar penalty for quadricycles and scrappage bonuses
Beyond electric two-wheelers, quadricycles also see their bonus removed. In addition, the scrappage bonus and other specific aids for Low Emission Zones are no longer available.
Bonus preserved for electric cars under income conditions
Regarding light vehicles, the withdrawal of the bonus for electric utilities contrasts with the maintenance of aid for electric cars. However, this is now subject to income criteria, calculated based on the reference tax income per share. The amounts vary from €2,000 to €4,000:
Bonus for electric cars 2025 (applicable from 12.02.2024)
- Reference tax income < €16,300: €4,000
- Reference tax income €16,301 – €26,200: €3,000
- Reference tax income > €26,200: €2,000
