Décathlon Introduces a New Version of the Van Rysel E-EDR AF
The launch in SRAM Apex AXS followed by Shimano 105
Initially launched with a SRAM Apex AXS 12-speed transmission, Decathlon’s E-EDR AF bike quickly saw a version in Shimano 105 (2 x 11 speeds), bringing its price to €2450. Today, we discover a more high-end version equipped with the Shimano 105 Di2 electronic transmission.
The new high-end version
For those who don’t know, the Di2 suffix at Shimano designates the wireless electronic transmission technology. There are no cables between the controls and the derailleurs, which offers better precision and responsiveness, as well as easier maintenance. However, the system requires electricity to operate, with a battery-powered control and a rechargeable battery.
The new version of the Van Rysel E-EDR AF arrives with this transmission offering 24 speeds (2 x 12), combining a double chainring (50/34) and an 11-34T cassette. Other components, including the frame, motor, battery, and Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm discs, remain unchanged. The bike is also equipped with Van Rysel tubeless ready wheels and 32 mm section Van Rysel tires.
Available in four sizes and two versions (one for women in “Lilac” color and one for men in red), the only difference being the saddle and the sizes offered. The price of this new version is set at €3000, which is €200 more than the SRAM Apex AXS version. This price difference reflects the higher cost of Shimano 105 Di2 components.
Decathlon continues its development in the field of electric road bikes by offering this new version of the Van Rysel E-EDR AF. With advanced technical features and a competitive price, this high-end version will meet the expectations of cyclists looking for performance and reliability.
