The new Jiyue 07: impressive autonomy
Introduction to the Jiyue brand
Have you ever heard of Jiyue? Probably not, as this young brand, founded in 2021, is not yet present in France. Born from a collaboration between Baidu and the Geely group, it unveiled its first model, the SUV 01, followed at the end of the year by the electric sedan 07.
The Jiyue 07, a direct competitor of the Tesla Model S, measures 4.69 meters long, 1.99 meters wide, and 1.48 meters high. This car is available in several versions, with one or two engines. The version with a single engine offers a power of 200 kW, or about 271 horsepower.
Battery system
The electric sedan has two battery options: – A 71.4 kWh battery offering a range of 660 kilometers according to the CLTC cycle (561 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle). – A larger 100 kWh battery allowing up to 770 kilometers in CLTC (654 kilometers in WLTP). Equipped with all-wheel drive, it can even reach a range of 880 kilometers (748 kilometers WLTP) in rear-wheel-drive version.
Exterior design and aerodynamics
The Jiyue 07 features a dynamic silhouette with a slanted roof, reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan and Xiaomi SU7. The front end, with its geometric optics connected by a thin light strip, offers an aggressive and futuristic style. The drag coefficient of 0.198 is exceptional, aiding energy efficiency. The handles are integrated into the bodywork and the rear part is particularly successful with a light strip.
For now, little information is available about the interior of the Jiyue 07. However, it is likely to be similar to the 01 model with a large 6K digital panel of 35.6 inches. Its wheelbase is announced at 3.01 meters.
Launch and expectations
The launch of the Jiyue 07 is scheduled for September. By then, more details will be revealed, including the price, which is likely to be high in Europe due to the increase in customs duties.
