Summary
Introduction of the iO cargo bike
The Italian manufacturer InBicy presents an innovation in the field of longtail cargo bikes with its iO model, available in muscular or electric version. The main feature of this bike lies in its tool-less interchangeable rack system, called Flash Switch, which allows for easy addition or removal of accessories.
Main features
The InBicy iO cargo bike is designed to carry up to 200 kg, distributed between the cyclist, passengers, and the load in the front basket. The rear luggage rack can support up to 90 kg, while the front basket is capable of carrying 25 kg, a rare feature for this type of basket. The flexibility of the Flash Switch system allows for quick installation of passenger seats and baskets without the need for tools.
Electric and muscular version
In the electric version, the iO model is equipped with a Mivice Cargo X700 mid-motor, offering a torque of 100 Nm. Combined with a 540 Wh Samsung battery, it reaches a range of 60 to 80 km depending on the assistance mode and the load. The weight of this version is around 25 kg. The muscular version weighs about 19 kg without the motor.
Double electric alternative
InBicy also offers a modified electric version of the muscular model with a Bafang M215 kit, available in options of 80, 100, or 120 Nm of torque.
Dimensions and frame
The bike measures 188 cm long, 107 cm high, and 68 cm wide with a 6061 aluminum frame adaptable to cyclists measuring between 1.50m and 2.00m, offering relatively compact dimensions for a longtail cargo bike.
Components and equipment
The iO models, whether electric or not, share entry-level components with an 8-speed Shimano Acera derailleur and 160 mm mechanical disc brakes. However, the equipment includes quality elements such as an Ergotec Humpert Aerowing II handlebar, SKS S-Guard mudguards, and 24-inch Kenda Small Block 8 Sports tires.
Comfort version
For increased comfort, InBicy offers the Bi-Drive model with a front SR Suntour telescopic fork and a suspended seat post, as well as Schwalbe Smart Sam tires, better suited for rough terrains.
Availability and options
Available from Italy, the iO bike comes in several modular versions with a range of options. Delivery costs are approximately €150.
InBicy aims to attract cargo bike enthusiasts with an innovative and functional product, although some component choices may surprise compared to the overall equipment offered.
