The Lankeleisi X3000 Max positions itself as an all-terrain electric mountain bike with impressive performance, designed for thrill-seekers and adventurers in search of power and comfort. Here is a detailed presentation of this model, based on an actual test.
My Review on the Lankeleisi X3000 Max
Our Test of the Bike
I had the opportunity to test the Lankeleisi X3000 Max full-suspension electric mountain bike for several weeks in southeast France. We tested it in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain. Here is my detailed opinion on this impressive bike!
First Impression and Handling
At first glance, the Lankeleisi X3000 Max impresses with its robust and modern design. Its 6061 aluminum frame, combined with wide 20 by 4-inch tires, gives it a powerful look and ready to tackle any terrain.
The first handling is reassuring, thanks to the quality of the materials and the perceived solidity. The seating is good, and the fairly wide V-shaped handlebar gives the feeling of sitting on a mini-motorcycle.
City and Paved Road Riding
In the city, the X3000 Max performs admirably. The front and rear suspensions effectively absorb irregularities, especially on paved roads, offering a smooth and comfortable ride.
The 1000W dual motor at the front and rear is impressive. It allows for fast starts at traffic lights and excellent maneuverability in urban traffic. The presence of the start handle is a real advantage and almost essential to get this big machine going!
I particularly appreciated the ergonomic saddle which adds notable comfort during long trips.
Testing on Trails and Dirt Paths
On dirt paths and forest trails, the Lankeleisi X3000 Max shows its full potential.
The wide tires provide exceptional grip, even on muddy and sandy terrains. The powerful motors allow you to tackle steep slopes effortlessly, and the full suspension ensures remarkable stability, even on uneven surfaces.
I was able to climb hills and slopes with ease, fully enjoying the 95 Nm torque per motor.
The most surprising to me is this alchemy between the power of the two motors and the smoothness of the full suspension. It’s a real pleasure to ride.
Performance in Rain and Slippery Conditions
I also tested the bike in the rain to evaluate its performance in wet conditions. The frame and components are well protected against water thanks to the IP64 protection rating, and the hydraulic disc brakes provide consistent and effective braking power, even in the rain. The bike remains stable and safe, with the wide tires contributing to good grip on slippery surfaces.
Battery Life
In terms of battery life, the 48V 20Ah Samsung battery is impressive. In full electric mode, I was able to cover about 65 km before needing to recharge, which meets expectations.
In pedal-assist mode, the range extends up to 120 km, which is ideal for long rides without worrying about the battery. It’s hard to evaluate exactly since it always depends on the cyclist’s weight and usage conditions. A full recharge takes about 6 to 7 hours, which is reasonable considering the battery’s capacity.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
- Exceptional power and performance thanks to the two 1000W motors.
- Comfortable ride ensured by the full suspension and ergonomic saddle.
- Excellent battery life with the 48V 20Ah Samsung battery.
- Grip and stability on different types of terrain thanks to the wide tires.
Weaknesses:
- High weight (39 kg), which can make manual transport difficult. The bike remains foldable, which is a plus for transport in a car, for instance, but you’ll need some strength to lift the 39 kg into the trunk.
- Requires some getting used to in order to master the power, especially in dual motor mode.
- Complex maintenance due to the dual motorization and advanced electrical components.
