Geely unveils the Geome Xingyuan
The Chinese manufacturer Geely recently presented its new electric car, the Geome Xingyuan. With dimensions similar to those of the Citroën C3 or the electric Renault 5, this model offers an impressive range of features for a very affordable price. Here are the details and images of this car.
Visual presentation
The Geome Xingyuan boasts a friendly design with soft, rounded lines. It has attractive features such as a contrasting colored roof, flush door handles, and alloy wheels. This body follows the standards of small Chinese cars, similar, for example, to Dongfeng’s Nammi Box which is currently available in Europe.
The interior of the car is even more remarkable. The dashboard is equipped with a large central screen running on Flyme Auto OS, accompanied by a driver’s dashboard. The dashboard design includes a backlit decor representing a symmetrical urban skyline and various technological refinements, including an induction charger.
An attractive price
Although Geely has not yet revealed the detailed technical specifications of the Geome Xingyuan, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has disclosed key information. The Geome Xingyuan, measuring 4.13 m long and 1.80 m wide, falls in the same category as the Renault 5 E-Tech and the Citroën ë-C3. Two versions with LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries from CATL will be available:
- One version with a 30.12 kWh battery powering a 79 hp (58 kW) motor for a range of 310 km according to Chinese CLTC standards (about 265 km WLTP).
- One version with a 40.16 kWh battery and a 114 hp (85 kW) motor offering a range of 410 km CLTC (about 350 km WLTP).
The charging capacities have not yet been communicated but should be by the end of 2024. The starting price of the Geome Xingyuan is said to be around 80,000 yuan, or 10,200 euros.
Availability in Europe
For now, no announcement has been made regarding possible availability in Europe. However, if the model reaches the European market, its price will probably be higher due to additional customs costs.
