Summary
Forbidden could opt for DJI’s Avinox engine
In the world of electric bikes, DJI’s new Avinox engine is making a sensation. Following the recent choice of the Dutch company Amflow, rumors indicate that the Canadian manufacturer Forbidden could be the next to succumb.
A choice of innovation for Forbidden
Known for its electric mountain bikes with often unique designs, notably with innovative suspensions, Forbidden is considering integrating DJI’s Avinox engine into its products. This would mark a significant turning point for the brand, as it would be their first introduction of an electric-assisted mountain bike.
Performance of the Avinox engine
Announced in July at Eurobike, DJI’s Avinox electric engine stands out for its performance, competing with engines like the Bosch Performance Line CX and the Shimano EP801 in the premium engines category. With a peak power of up to 850 watts and offering a torque of 105 Nm, all this for a weight of only 2.52 kg, the engine is configured in 36 volts and seems perfectly aligned with the dynamic spirit of Forbidden bikes.
Commitments of Amflow
The partnership between DJI and Forbidden remains to be finalized, however, Amflow has already integrated the Avinox engine into its PL Carbon and PL Carbon Pro models, confirming the trend. This choice well illustrates the appeal of this new engine among leading manufacturers in the electric bike industry.
