Ferrari will launch its first electric car
A new era begins for Ferrari, with the imminent launch of its first 100% electric car. Manufactured at a state-of-the-art factory in Maranello, production is expected to begin in a few months. According to a source close to the manufacturer, the price of this car will reach peaks, well above the internal combustion engine models of the Italian brand.
A record price for an electric car
Expectations are high for this first electric Ferrari, a sign of the brand’s gradual transition to fully electric vehicles planned for 2035. The initial sale price, according to a source relayed by Reuters, would be around 500,000 euros for the base model. This price does not include customization options, which can raise the bill by 15 to 20%. For comparison, the average cost of Ferraris sold in the first quarter of 2024 was already 350,000 euros.
Two electric models in development
The official announcement of this first model is planned for the end of 2025. In parallel, a second fully electric model is under development. These vehicles will be produced at the new factory in Maranello, whose inauguration is scheduled for June 21, 2024. This facility will increase the annual production capacity to 20,000 units, compared to 14,000 currently. The factory will also manufacture internal combustion and hybrid models.
A commitment to unique sensations
Ferrari enthusiasts eagerly await this innovation. The manufacturer assures that it is working intensively to offer unparalleled driving performance. Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s marketing director, had promised a true sports car, notably with an artificial engine sound to reproduce the iconic sonic experience of Ferrari’s bolides, as revealed by a patent filing detected by Automotive News.
