The Rockrider RR900e: New German Electric Mountain Bike from Decathlon
High Performance and Range
Introducing a new chapter in the electric-assist mountain bike catalog, Decathlon makes a notable foray into the high-end market with its highly anticipated latest model, the Rockrider RR900e. This mountain bike, targeting hardtrail enthusiasts, is a German market exclusive and remains just as tempting for its features as for its design.
Decathlon has progressively strengthened its presence in the electric mountain bike sector with the introduction of its E-EXPL and E-FEEL lines. However, it is with the Rockrider RR900e that the brand crosses an additional threshold, aiming to satisfy a clientele looking for performance and distinction.
Technical Refinement: Motorization and Battery Capacity
At the heart of this technological gem lies a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, with notable power and a maximum torque of 85 Nm, surpassing previous models. The battery has also been improved, its capacity rising to 625 Wh compared to 500 Wh previously, promising a range varying from 20 to 100 kilometers. These figures naturally vary depending on assistance modes and the type of terrain ridden.
The management of these components is easily done thanks to an Intuvia 100 display located at the center of the handlebars, where the cyclist can control the level of assistance, speed, or the battery charge status.
A Robust Frame and Cutting-Edge Equipment
The new version of the Rockrider RR900e is built on a semi-suspended frame paired with a Rockshox brand fork, offering up to 100 mm of travel, guaranteeing comfort and control on the most demanding terrains. This mountain bike is also equipped with 29-inch Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires and benefits from a Shimano Deore 12-speed transmission, thus optimizing the smoothness and precision of pedaling.
In terms of safety, its Shimano hydraulic braking system ensures effective and controlled deceleration, with 203 mm discs at the front and 180 mm at the rear.
Availability and Outlook
The Rockrider RR900e comes in three sizes to suit every cyclist, with a weight of 24.6 kg for the size M frame. Currently, this model is marketed in Germany at a price of €3,499, a price aligned with that of the E-EXPL 700 S model from the same brand, although the latter has a slightly different motorization.
The question that remains is whether this exceptional mountain bike will join the range available in France. In the meantime, cyclists living near the border can easily travel to Germany to acquire this new flagship of Decathlon.
