Carrefour partnership with ZEWAY for electric scooters
Carrefour is partnering with ZEWAY to install battery exchange stations for electric scooters in its stores. Thirty new ZEWAY stations will be set up in Carrefour stores and service stations by the end of the year. These stations will be located in Ile-de-France as well as in several major provincial cities such as Nice, Bordeaux, Lyon, and Toulouse, and will be accessible to ZEWAY scooter users.
Inspired by Taiwan’s Gogoro model, ZEWAY offers a subscription that includes scooter rental, insurance, maintenance, and unlimited access to battery exchange stations. With this partnership, the total number of ZEWAY stations increases to 150. In addition to Carrefour, ZEWAY has agreements with other major brands such as BNP Paribas, ESSO, Effia, and Monoprix.
Carrefour’s initiatives for electromobility
Carrefour is not limited to scooters. The company is also deploying charging infrastructure for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in its stores. Some Carrefour hypermarkets also offer a free service to recharge electric bikes and scooters.
