Launch of the Busy Bee Cargo Bike
The Busy Bee cargo bike was launched today, backed by cycling industry investor Paul Farrell. This product was developed in close collaboration with global B2B fleet logistics operators.
The Busy Bee offers a new approach for last-mile deliveries in all weather conditions. The modular design allows customization of the loading module according to the customer’s needs, and the 4.62KW three-cell batteries are interchangeable.
Designed in the UK with input from aerospace and automotive engineers as well as regular cargo bike users, the Busy Bee is ready for rapid and high-quality production. Emphasis is placed on robust engineering standards at a reduced cost.
For the driver, Busy Bee offers many safety and comfort features. This includes an adjustable ergonomic driver seat with seatbelt, lights, four proximity sensors, a reversing camera, and a large LCD display screen.
Technological Innovation
The Busy Bee is equipped with a transmission system without chains or mechanical belts, ensuring maximum efficiency. A state-of-the-art onboard electronic monitoring system, powered by FTEX, allows tracking, monitoring, and controlling each vehicle in real-time for maximum efficiency and range.
A three-year warranty is offered on the main components. An optional full maintenance program is available with the opportunity to purchase spare parts in the UK. Operator training is included with discounts for B2B fleets.
Paul Farrell, founder of BB-EV, emphasizes the urgency of reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector. In-depth discussions with B2B logistics operators have led to the creation of a comprehensive solution for the challenges of last-mile deliveries.
Collaboration with Stihl
The major tooling and equipment company Stihl is collaborating with BB-EV on this project. Simon Hewitt, marketing director of STIHL GB, expressed his enthusiasm about this launch, highlighting the alignment of the cargo bike with their commitment to efficiency and battery-powered technology.
The Busy Bee cargo bike offers an innovative solution meeting the real needs of operators and complements their existing infrastructure, particularly in the field of urban logistics.
